Haunted Houses in Tulsa | Surviving the maze
Haunted houses in Tulsa, episode 25. I wanted to spend some time to talk about in sandy farms and the competition. We’ve got several other haunted houses in Tulsa. I’m one of the biggest is heck’s house. A house has been around for over 10 years and they’ve, they’ve had two different locations and they first started out over 71st and memorial and it was tad. It was attached to the incredible pizza. Uh, but they moved to West Tulsa I think two years ago. Uh, and they’re located in the town plaza over there and it is a shopping mall, but they’re located on the very quarter unit of the shopping mall and they have pretty good visibility from my 44. I’m pretty good signage, but um, they are uh, definitely one of the biggest haunted houses. And Tulsa, uh, they heavily advertise on billboards. You see their billboards all over town and they do radio. I’m sure they do print.
I didn’t see any, but I’m sure they do coupons and stuff like that. So there are definitely one of the biggest competitors to sandy farms, one of the best haunted houses. And Tulsa, I’m their theme goes along with, um, which I think is pretty cool. It goes along with one of the haunted houses and Tulsa that’s actually one of the haunted houses. It was known as heck’s house and there’s a story behind heck’s house. I’m not going to get into it, but they, Haunted Houses in Tulsa, anyway, they went after that storyline and that’s how they came up with the name heck’s house. Um, a few years back, I guess when they moved they also decided to add a second attraction, which is probably a good idea since they were moving. Um, it’s called west side grim. And um, I’ve heard really good things about both their attractions and one of the biggest differences between heck’s house and if sandy farms one of the best haunted houses and Tulsa is the number of attractions we, they have to.
We have three, um, but also, um, there it’s well known that their employees actually touch and grab the customers as they walk through. Um, we try to stray away from that. We feel like there’s just too much liability involved with employees touching customers. Uh, we feel like we can just get a biggest scare without having to touch them. Uh, we, we, we create seeds inside of our haunted houses and Tulsa and sandy farms. Uh, we create seeds that will scare customers without having to touch them. Um, I believe their tickets are $40 and then up from there, um, they do offer an express pass where you can skip the line so they have really long lines because they’re one of the biggest haunted houses and Tulsa. But, uh, I guess what the extra, if you pay extra, you can skip the line. Um, that’s one another big difference between us and Sandy Barnes and text houses.
We don’t charge an express pass and we feel like we can get customers through an even amount of time. We really stage it and we really train our employees on staging leave lines when they come through. Um, so there’s no long wait. Um, and also there’s no, what we call Conga lines, uh, were a lot of times if you’re walking along and an attraction inside, like our, our field of fear, which is our haunted corn maze. If you’re walking through there, if you’re not careful, you can get customers backed up inside of there, which we call Conga lines, but we specifically train our employees and actors to stage them and time them, Haunted Houses in Tulsa, when they scare them. So if there’s too many customers coming through, we’ll teach them to step actually in front of the line or the group that’s moving through just to slow it down or just the space it up enough where we don’t get those log lines.
Um, so that’s one of the biggest differences between, in sandy farms, one of the best haunted houses and Tulsa versus heck’s house, one of the other haunted houses and tall, so I want to talk about was a nightmare. And they are associated with guts church. God’s church is a very large church that’s in Tulsa as well as surrounding areas. Um, so they’ve been putting this production on for over 20 years, at least a or maybe even less, maybe about 15 years, but ever since I, when I was in high school they were having it. Haunted Houses in Tulsa, so, um, they, they offer three different options for their admission. Uh, it’s $15 for mission, just for one time a, it’s $30, I believe, for their express pass when you get to skip the lines and then they have $100 season pass, which I thought was interesting. Um, we may add that to our option next year because we had a lot of customers that came out and wanted to go through it again and again and again.
Uh, they had such a great time. So we may add that to insanity farms, one of the best haunted houses and Tulsa, we may add a season pass to our options next year. A nightmare focuses in on. I’m kind of a religious theme, uh, but they also create scenes that are pretty, uh, pretty intense. They have a scene, an abortion scene, a, we’re a girl screaming and they’re actually having like a fake live abortion. Uh, so that’s pretty intense scene, especially for younger kids to see. And then you have, Haunted Houses in Tulsa, they have like a Dui car crash scene and that was pretty intense as well, especially for, again, younger children or teenagers to see. And then at the end they kind of a question to you about, do you believe in God and stuff like that. So they tie in to the religious theme, uh, but they do a really good job at getting their congregation to come out and go through it.
Um, that’s a big drive for them to create some of their revenue. So we may look at like getting more groups to come out to the sandy farms, one of the best haunted houses and Tulsa next year. Um, and I really believe that’ll help. I’m just drive you more customers through our, through our gates. And another haunted house in Tulsa. I wanted to talk about, um, is actually not in Tulsa, but it’s a little bit further out. Haunted Houses in Tulsa, and it’s probably the closest related to how our attractions are at insanity farms as far as being an outdoor venue. Um, and, and that, and that haunted house in Tulsa is a psychopath and psychopaths been around just as long as the other two, a nightmare and hex house. Um, and they do a really good job at doing like a hot and a haunted trail that they take you on.
So they, so it’s, this is out in the middle of nowhere and it’s really dark out and uh, so they really focus in on people’s fear of the dark and now they do a lot of cool things with their effects when they go out there on the trail, like they dropped like a spider down from a tree and stuff like that. Uh, so again, a psychopath and in sandy farms, one of the best haunted houses and Tulsa, uh, they’re probably the closest related to us as far as we’re both weather dependent. If it rains, it’s really hard for us to have a really good experience. Um, as far as if it wasn’t raining, um, it’s just outdoor venues. Rain and weather really affects us. So they definitely feel the same effects we do. This year it rained five of the eight nights we were open. Uh, so we really had to deal with large crowds on the nights that it wasn’t raining versus if every night, Haunted Houses in Tulsa, it wasn’t raining, we would have had, you know, it would have been spread out a little bit more.
Um, and I believe their prices for psychopath or 20, 30 and $40 and you know, and I, and I believe they also offer express pass, which we do not say any farms. Again, we feel like we can kind of regulate and the lines and get people through in a fast manner. Haunted Houses in Tulsa, so in conclusion, I wanted to point out some of the differences between the other haunted houses and Tulsa and insanity farms. As you can see, we offer the best price at $25 for three attractions and it’s in a great location, South Tulsa. So you don’t have to drive way out to see it or an a part of town that’s a, you know, a little bit further out than you’d like to travel. So we feel like with all those, that way it really makes the sandy farmers one of the best haunted houses. And Tulsa.
