Haunted Houses in Tulsa | Insanity Farms

Haunted houses and Tulsa, episode 19. I wanted to spend some time to talk about exactly what in sandy farms is a. We came up with the idea about two to three years ago, um, because we wanted to offer something really unique to customers that are searching one of the best haunted houses. And Tulsa, uh, we wanted to offer a really immersed intense fear focused haunted houses in Tulsa. We really wanted to focus in on people’s fears, but we also wanted to tie it in one of our other businesses, which is Pumpkin town followers. Um, and we kinda struggled doing that in the beginning because we didn’t know exactly how we were going to, uh, connect the two businesses. We didn’t know if we should leave one entrance and both for the same or if we should make two separate entrances. There was a lot of thought and effort I put into this whole experience and I think it really turned and sandy farms into, into one of the best haunted houses in Tulsa.

Um, so we sat down with a pen and paper and we first had to come up with a name for it. We bounced around several different ideas like the field field of fear, um, you know, hot farm fear farm, but we kind of settled on this idea that we wanted our hot to make it feel like you’re on a farm. Um, we already had pumpkin town farms as our pumpkin patch, so, uh, we wanted to tie it into that. So we decided to stick with the farm theme. Uh, we bounced around a lot of adjectives that we could use before the word farm. Uh, we sat together and brainstormed and we came up with several different adjectives that went before the word farms. Uh, we ended up settling on insanity. And so that’s what came up with the name and sandy farms, one of the best haunted houses in Tulsa.

Once we came up with the name, uh, it gave us a direction to head in where we could move forward with exactly what we were going to offer, how much you’re going to offer it for. And when are we going to be open? Um, to give you an idea of how, uh, how basic it was when we started out, um, we started out with a piece of paper and a name and then we drew the layout on it. We kind of bounced around ideas and what the attraction could be. But um, to give you an idea of how little we started with, we literally had no electric, no water. It was just an empty field that we started with, um, and, you know, with a lot of effort, blood and tears, we transformed that field into the, one of the best haunted houses and Tulsa.

Um, so once we came up with the name, like I said, we had to sit down and decide exactly what attractions we’re going to offer a for in sandy farms, one of the best haunted houses and Tulsa. Um, so we knew we were going to do a haunted corn maze that was something that’s not offered in Tulsa or even an eastern Oklahoma. Uh, so we have the only haunted corn maze and we decided to call it the field of fear. I’m inside the field of fear again, we wanted to focus in on people’s fears. Uh, we felt like we didn’t, we wanted to stray away from the whole blood and guts, like some of our other competitors. Uh, we really wanted to focus in on the suspense of fear, Haunted Houses in Tulsa, you know, darkness as a fear and a bunch of other fears like people’s fears are snakes, spiders, roaches, really the unknown.

So we kind of created this unique experience where customers can come in and they can experience these fears that they’ve had. Um, a lot of people are scared of clowns. So we added a clown seen in our, in our haunted or haunted attraction. And we also really wanted to focus in on making this a group experience. What are certain attractions we can put in there that the whole group could enjoy Haunted Houses in Tulsa. So we did the field of fear and that’s the name we came up with with the Hanukkah for the Honda accord maze. And we, it’s about a 45 minute ride attraction. And that’s as soon as you step foot into the corn maze and all the way to the end. Again, we focused on people’s fears. We have several different tunnels inside of the field of fear we call these tunnels because we built them covered, um, and made it feel like it’s like a walkthrough for people to go through.

Um, so with each one of these tunnels we did a roach tunnel, a spider tunnel. I’m a cockroach tunnel. And then a claustrophobic tunnel. The claustrophobic tunnel was one of my favorites because it literally makes you feel like you’re squeezing through a really tight space you can’t see and you don’t know where the end is a. So that was something that was one of my favorite props inside of the field of fear. I’m also with a haunt. You don’t just always want them to continuously scare people because people’s are general and actually peaks out at a certain point. Haunted Houses in Tulsa, so one of the key things we focused in on were a couple of scenes inside the field of fear that we’re actually funny. We have a scene where we have a horse, but that shoots out as people walked by, it looks like it’s in a stall and it sprays water and the second person that walks by.

So that was a really fun, a really funny experience to put inside of our field of fear to help alleviate that issue of people’s adrenaline always being pete. Um, it just creates, like, once you, once they seen that funny scene, we hit them with a really scary, you sign up for that and it just creates even more scare for our customers. Uh, another thing I was proud of them inside of the field of fear was our finale and our finale is a giant a head and it’s actually a puppet. So it’s a really big puppet that’s has weights on the back to help balance it out. Uh, but we have a employee that stands behind it and drives, it, pushes these metal bars that helped drive the puppet. Haunted Houses in Tulsa, if you could imagine you’re walking down the last part of the coordinators and all of a sudden a giant boar head pops out. Um, it’s about three foot tall. It’s mouth opens, it’s got a really nasty snarl. We have a really loud speaker next to it that really scares the heck out of people as they walked by. And then, you know, it’s uh, it’s our big finale. It’s, it’s, it’s eyes glow. It’s mouth, it’s mouth moves and it’s a really good finale. We heard really good things about the, uh, the forehead at the end of the field of fear.

Once we decided on the field of fear, we knew we needed to add a couple of other attractions to make it worth people’s time and money. Uh, the field of fear really could’ve stood alone if we decided to just do that as the haunt. But, uh, we really wanted to offer the best haunted houses and Tulsa hadn’t sandy forms. Uh, so we wanted to offer a couple more haunted attractions. One of those was the Zombie Zombie apocalypse paint ball. Uh, it’s the only one of its kind in Oklahoma. Haunted Houses in Tulsa, we personally, uh, made edits to each one of these containers changes. We rebuilt a, basically a container intuition shooting gallery. It’s a really cool experience. We have 16 guns inside the container that we built there, paintball, guns, and then they shoot out into our field. Our field is a giant and edit area where we have live actors that are dressed as zombies.

We have animatronic zombies that pop up and down during the show. Haunted Houses in Tulsa, and then to make it even more immersed, there’s sound that goes along with the, uh, there’s lighting that goes along with it. There’s, um, you know, we have actors inside of the containers that are general military sergeants that are telling him, you know, screaming at him to kill the zombies and get rid of the zombies before they take over the farm. Uh, so that was another really cool attraction that we added to and sandy farms to make it one of the best haunted houses in Tulsa to attractions weren’t good enough for us. So we decided we needed to add a third. So we settled on the chaos pallet. May’s, uh, that was actually one of the first things that we built for the haunt. But, um, it was a really labor intensive project. We used over 2,500 pallets to build it. Um, it’s got strobe lights on the corners, it’s got loud music that plays and it’s got a really scary clown chuckles the clown that escaped from the local penitentiary that hides out in chaos. So in conclusion, I wanted to give you guys an insight on how we came up with the name and Sam knew farms, uh, how we came upon building and sandy farms,

how we decided on the attractions we wanted to build and the type of experience that we want to provide for our customers. All those things involved really make and sandy farms one of the best haunted houses. And Tulsa.
